Story
Thank you for donating to my VSO fundraising page. VSO works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. The volunteers' skills, knowledge and sheer enthusiasm make lasting and far reaching change in the world's poorest communities.I’m fundraising in support of all VSO funded projects, which benefit around 2 million people every year. By donating to my page you are not paying for just one placement, you are supporting all of VSO’s vital work, enabling them to continue to change the world through the power of volunteering.
My name is Emma Tirvengadum, I am 18 years old and currently live in the Lake District. As part of ICS, I will be volunteering in Banan, commencing October 2018. Banan is a small town near Battambang, a city on the Sangkae River in northwestern Cambodia.
I am thoroughly looking forward to my placement, and I am hoping to raise £1500 in order to fund VSO so future volunteers can help benefit developing countries across the globe. I have recently finished sixth form where I studied: Chemistry, Biology and English Language. However, I am now on my gap year and looking for opportunities to help benefit other communities across the globe. ICS was a perfect choice for this as this placement allows me to explore new cultures as well as contribute to the community and be part of a spectacular charity which helps reduce global poverty. Please help me raise £1500 for this amazing charity, by donating to this page, so VSO can carry on helping global communities and benefitting the lives of global citizens.
