Story
Hello all!
Unfortunately, earlier this year I lost my wonderful Grandma to Alzheimer’s. She suffered with the disease for over 15years but she never lost her beautiful smile and nature.
This charity based in my home town of Doncaster has been fantastic in providing memory cafes, tea dances, singers and much more for my Grandma and Grandad. The group has been a massive support for my Grandad and has gained a network of friends who he still sees regularly despite my Grandmas passing.
This is a brilliant charity that raises its money mainly through fundraising and is ran by wonderful volunteers. It gets no support from National funding. They do a fantastic job and I only wish all areas had a Donmentia if it’s own.
So I’m putting myself through a gruelling and hilly marathon in October around the beautiful Kielder water. I have also entered the ballot for the London Marathon 2020 and hope to do the Northumberland marathon in February (let’s see how the Kielder goes first!).
So please donate whatever you can, whether it be £1 or £100 to help this great charity support those and their families living with dementia get the support they need!
