Yorkshire Marathon 2022 · 16 October 2022 ·

We are a network of foster carers in and around York who welcome into their homes abandoned, stray or neglected felines. They receive medical care and all the TLC they deserve. Once back to full health, the BORNY team find forever homes for the cats where they can begin their second chance at life.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I originally signed up to run my first marathon in 2019! Without stating the obvious, the unforeseen global circumstances we have all lived through has delayed this to 3 years down the line.  With 3 years in the making one may think I am super prepared are raring to go. Alas, this is not the case and the proper training has only just begun (ouch).

As I will be putting myself through what I can only describe as 4-5 hours of pain, why not get some good out of it and support a worthy charitable cause.

Band of rescuers are a group of animal loving individuals based in York who came together to form a team with one aim; helping animals in need within the community. They achieved charity status in 2019 and Band of Rescuer North Yorkshire (BORNY) was official.

What is unique about BORNY is that instead of a cattery-based setup, they have a network of foster carers in and around York who welcome into their homes these abandoned, stray or neglected felines, where they can be given the TLC they deserve. Once back to full health and given the green light from the vets, the BORNY team find forever homes for the cats where they can begin their second chance at life. They rely solely on public donations and all monies raised goes directly towards helping cats and kittens in need. Without this support they would not be able to continue the vital work they do.

I know that any donation will be hugely appreciated by myself and the team at BORNY so a massive thank you in advance.
