Hi everyone
Well earlier this year , I had been driving around and kept seeing posters saying, 40 female voices wanted, to rise money for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, and so one July day, whilst feeling very brave, I sent an email to enquire. They wanted to know what, if any, singing experience you had and I received an email back a few days later to say I was exactly who they were looking for !!!
I went along one evening and was made to feel very welcome and comfortable and I managed to sing a few notes and I was pleased there wasn’t a red button or big X anywhere to be seen !! A few nervous days later, I received and email to say I was in ✅ and singing soprano 1 🎶 only the highest voice of the choir 😳😬
Off I went to first rehearsal and politely informed them that there just have been some terrible mistake. Explaining that I would be much more comfortable singing a much lower part, with a big smile they said, I’m sure you will be fine !!!! 👍🏼 I was kindly shown to my seat FRONT ROW smack bang I front of the piano. FANTASTIC that could only happen to me !!!!
The rehearsal went well, everyone was so lovely and I hadn’t laughed so much in ages. I have also managed to sing notes I haven’t sung for years and I love going every week. We are now 1 week tomorrow from show night on 11st November at the Cresset and I would love it is you could help me raise money for this amazing charity.
We are raising money for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough who provide outstanding care to patients and their families and need our help to raise money to enable them to continue this work and care for more families at a very difficult time. This was my motivation to want to be involved in this amazing event.
Lockdowns, PPE and visitor restrictions didn’t stop Sue Ryder. They kept on caring because people like me cared too. But sadly, there is one thing that could stop them now.
With less income from their shops and many fundraising events being cancelled during lockdown and the restrictions, they already have £2m less coming in each month than they need to keep running at full capacity
Sue Ryder nurses and healthcare staff are needed more than ever at a time when they simply don’t have enough funding and they are facing an end-of-life care crisis the likes of which have never been seen before
Thank you for reading and if you are able to donate a few pounds we would be most grateful❤️
Thanks
