I am the captain of our team – Friends Forever for this years Relay for Life.

This will be my 10th year supporting and participating in Relay For Life and I decided this year to undertake my own personal challenge for Cancer Research UK.

Having undertaken my own research I found that cancer had been identified as long ago as the 1700s. However formal research into cancer didn’t progress formally until 1902 by The Imperial Cancer Research Fund and The Cancer Research Campaign when in 2002 both organisations merged to form what is known today as Cancer Research UK.

To recognise that Cancer Research has been active for 124 years I have challenged myself to walk for 1km per year totalling 124km [ approx. 77 miles or 180,000 steps]
