Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am run/walking The London Marathon 2023 as part of the Diabetes UK fundraising team . Why?  During lockdown 2020 September 30th my daughter, then 10 was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. She had been ill with shingles in the summer and then became very ill over a number of days with Diabetic Ketoacidosis. It was implied she had Covid so was tested,  it was negative.  I rushed her to hospital as she collapsed and was struggling to breath and remain conscious.  The hospital and Diabetic team saved her life , she was in hospital for a week . She displayed the classic signs which I was unaware of at the time . The signs,  the 4 T's Tired/Thirsty/Thinner/Toilet. If your loved one is going to the toilet more than usual,  losing weight,  very tired and drinking lots more than usual,  take action , seek medical advice, as undiagnosed can lead to a life threatening situation.

My family and I are forever grateful to the hospital team for saving our daughters life 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Anyway I love to run and haven't run a marathon before. I am passionate about raising awareness and finding a cure . I have lots of training to do and the fundraising target is big.  Please help if you can whatever donation you can make will be so much appreciated by me , my family and Diabetes UK . Let's do this 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
