We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

When Ali's waters went on the 6th September 2015, they thought it was the end of the road for Baby D. They were told that if Daniel was born at 23 +3 weeks, he only had a 5% chance of survival. The doctors said that he had a 90% chance of arriving within 48 hours due to losing the waters around him, and if he did, they wouldn't resuscitate him.

Daniel beat those odds, and after holding on for 23 days, he arrived at 26 +5. He then had a 78 day Nicu stay, but came home without oxygen and was generally very healthy apart from having his hernias repaired.

On the 1st April Daniel started to develop a rash, which was put down to virus. The rash continued, and after 9 days of the rash, he was diagnosed as having 'Blueberry muffin syndrome' . The syndrome was either due to leukaemia, neuroblastoma or cytomegalovirus. After many tests and an 11 day anxious wait, he was diagnosed as myeloid sarcoma, a rare form of leukaemia that had originated in his bone marrow and spread to his skin, Daniel was then diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia.

Sadly Daniel said goodbye to his mummy and daddy and left this world in June this year. He also left a massive legacy to raise awareness for child cancer, blood cancer, a number of amazing charities and just in bringing out the best in people.

Daniel was being treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital, the charity needs to raise £50 million every year to help rebuild and refurbish Great Ormond Street Hospital, buy vital equipment and fund pioneering research. With your help we provide world class care to our very ill children and their families.
GOSH is the only hope for some children.
