We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We believe that home is everything.

Story

Arup fire engineers are proud to celebrate over 50 years of fire safety at Arup.

At the heart of our story is our founder, Dr Margaret Law, a pioneer in fire engineering, whose technical excellence helped to deliver iconic projects such as the Pompidou Centre in Paris and Lloyd’s Building in London. Today we are a global team of 300 fire safety professionals working on over 3000 projects annually. We collectively strive to transform scientific rigour into practical solutions through collaboration, so can we shape a safer, equitable, and sustainable world.

As a team we recognise the importance of the work that Shelter do in advocating for safe homes, setting out a foundation from which people can build their lives. We, like, Shelter believe that a safe home is fundamental right.

As part of our annual fundraising events, members of our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices will be donning their walking boots and adopting the team name "Stop, drop & stroll" to venture forth 11miles from Fisherrow Links (Musselburgh) to finishing at Scottish Gas Murrayfield. We hope to raise funds to support the great work that Shelter do.
