Great Scottish Swim 2018 · 25 August 2018 ·

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm taking part in the Great Scottish Swim on the 25th August and have chosen to put my impulsive-adventure-hungry whim to good use, raising money for a cause close to our hearts - Parkinson's UK 💙

After being diagnosed with Parkinson's in his early 40s, a good friend of ours chose to show the cruel disease who's boss and, began participating in triathlons! 🏊🏽‍♂️🚴🏽‍♂️🏃🏾‍♂️

He can be a miserable and unwelcoming git (😘) but he's been a total inspiration. Regardless of what your body does or doesn't want to do, he's shown me that a strong mind can be a powerful beast. He's helped me discover a love of the sea and water and for that, I'm pretty grateful.

So, I've tallied up the number of sleeps I have left before I dive into this ridiculous gin-fuelled commitment I've made and it's 73.

SEVENTY THREE sleeps!

I'm hoping if I can see your kind donations mounting, it'll keep me motivated to train (I don't want to be the only person participating in arm bands and a rubber ring!).  Any pennies you can spare will be very gratefully received and if I don't drown on my way around, I'll buy you a little drink next time we meet!😉

Diolch | Thank you
