My story is that 10 weeks ago, I was just a normal, fairly fit and healthy 36 year old, mother of 2, who enjoyed quite an active lifestyle and enjoyed going to the gym & spinning 4 days a week! 

After a routine trip to the GP, I received the devastating news that a lump I found, is in fact lobular breast cancer & over the next few months I will have to endure  a tough 6 months of Chemotherapy, A Mastectomy, Radiotherapy and eventually reconstructive surgery.

The hardest part was knowing I would lose my long hair, so rather than waiting for it to fall out, I made the decision to donate it to www.littleprincesses.org.uk.   They are a truly amazing charity that provide real hair wigs to children with cancer, for which I feel lucky enough to help.

With no family history, I am proof that any type of cancer really can happen to anyone.  I am so grateful for the treatment I am receiving  at Solihull & Heartlands Hospital, that I really want to do something positive, to show my thanks to everyone who is supporting me & by giving something back.

The statistics for Breast Cancer are shocking with over 50,000 women being diagnosed each year!

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create a force that cancer can't ignore.
