In June 2025, Emma, Aileen, Gayle, Jen, Jo, Susan and Wendy have challenged themselves to take on the Lake District Mighty Hike marathon to help raise money for people living with cancer.

Alisdair and Emma will also do the 26 mile Northumberland Mighty Hike in September.

It's a cause close to our hearts and we''d be very grateful if you could help us reach our pledge, £250 can pay for a Macmillan Nurse for one day. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support. All the money our group raise will remain within Dumfries & Galloway.

There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
