Brighton Marathon 2019 · 14 April 2019 ·
Over the last year or so, ive seen my Dad go from being fully independent and outgoing to slowly forgetting simple everyday tasks, this is the man I have always looked up to, who is always there for me, It’s been more than tough watching his decline, and seeing his frustrations with things he no longer understands, and although he is still with us ( which I’m incredibly grateful for) it feels like I’ve already lost a huge part of him, earlier this year he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s diesease and however hard that is to accept, I’m grateful he/ and my family are now able to get the support he/we deserve to be able to help him live the best quality of life possible.
I’ve been very fortunate to have a place in The Brighton marathon 2019, , as I'm sure you all know I'm a keen runner and although I've completed this distance several times before it doesn't take away the months of training it takes to complete a marathon, the one thing that keeps me going through this is the opportunity to make a difference by raising money for charities such as The Alzheimer's society.
This one’s for you Dad 😊
