Race to the Stones 2020 · 4 July 2020

Ever wanted to walk in the footsteps of our past? This event will take you across the Ridgeway, the oldest path in Britain, finishing in the historic Avebury Stone Circle. Conquering an impressive 100km for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Story

Race to the Stone take 2!!

As part of my mid-life crisis I will be completing the rescheduled 2021 Race to the Stones. A 100km run/walk along the historic Ridgeway path in 1 day!  This was meant to happen last year for my 40th birthday but like everything else it was cancelled but it’s looking good for this year and training is well underway.

I will be completing this for Wiltshire Air Ambulance who are a charity that provides an essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) across Wiltshire and surrounding counties. It needs to raise £3.75m a year to continue saving lives, but is not directly funded by the Government and receives no National Lottery funding, so relies on generous public donations.

Knowing someone through the Far Runners who needed their service after being involved in a hit and run accident on his bike near Lechlade, I can appreciate the importance of the service and it is vital it is there incase any of us need it one day.

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page and donating......have everything crossed for me in July!
