The AJ Bell London Triathlon 2018 · 4 August 2018 to 5 August 2018 ·

We offer a home in a safe and supportive community environment for up to 45 formerly homeless individuals for as long as they need it. Through their volunteer work in our charity shops, our residents can rebuild their self-esteem, and gain invaluable transferable skills to help change their lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a personal challenge to myself and wanting to raise money for a charity, I have decided to enter a triathlon.

Being new to this, I have decided to take on the AJ Bell sprint triathlon which is 750m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run on 4th August 2018.

The route starts with a swim in the Royal Victoria Dock, run around the London Docklands, finishing in the London excel centre.

I hope to complete this in an hour and a half.

I chose to raise money for Emmaus Lambeth for many reasons.

Emmaus are a local homelessness charity to me, I have given many items to them in the past, and also went to 'The Jungle' in Calais France a couple of years ago with another Emmaus Community to deliver much needed items to the refugees and migrants.

Information about Emmaus Lambeth:

"We provide a home and meaningful work to 27 formerly homeless people.
By living in our community and working in one of our shops, someone who has experienced homelessness has the chance to gain some stability and support, and take the opportunity to find a positive way to move on with their life"
