We fund world leading cancer research to give hope to cancer patients

Story

I can honestly say that the past year has been the worst year of my life. As some of you may know, my family recently lost a very special person - my Grampa. On December 20th 2013, we found out that he had cancer and there was no treatment or anything that anybody could do to help him. 19 days later, on January 8th, he passed away.

I want to be able to do something to help find a cure for cancer and prevent the horrible illness from affecting so many families and people all over the world. With your help and donations, we can contribute to helping cancer research.

On April 26th, my Dad and I will be completing our first challenge by jumping out of a plane in memory of my Gramps. The event will take place at Swansea Airfield, which is somewhere where my brother and cousins will have fond memories of my Grampa taking them when they were little to see the planes. As some of you will know, my Grampa had a love of planes so this feels like a great way to raise money for a fantastic charity in memory of him. If he was still withs us, I know he'd be there watching and telling me about the model and type of plane we were going in.

As well as the skydive,  my Dad and I will be completing two half marathons - the Swansea half marathon on July 20th, and Cardiff half marathon on October 5th. This will be much more of a challenge for me as when I start my training on 1st April, I will be juggling mile long runs with mounds of marking and lesson planning. My aim is run the Swansea half marathon in under 1 hour 50, and after completing the Swansea race, I will set myself a new target for the Cardiff race.

A day won't go by without me thinking of and missing my Gramps. So please donate to raise money that will help find a cure for the most cruel thing in the world that affects so many people.  Every little bit helps.

UPDATE: Challenge number 1 completed!! My Dad and I jumped out of a plane at 12, 000 ft on May 26th!  We free-falled at 120mph for 45 seconds - it was an amazing experience, and the views over the Gower were breathtaking (literally - as I was woooohooo-ing insetad of keeping my mouth shut and breathing through my nose like we were told to do )! Now the exciting challenge is done... hard training and many miles left to run!
