Edinburgh Marathon Festival Full Marathon 2018 · 27 May 2018 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I am going to run the Edinburgh Marathon in memory of Emma Mannix. Emma was born in March 2012 and tragically diagnosed with Pure Erythroid Leukaemia, a rare type of blood cancer in June of that year. Unfortunately despite all the hard work, care, and expertise of the staff and consultants at Alderhey Hospital Emma passed away on 7 October 2012.

Emma's parents, Mike and Fiona, have done an incredible job raising vital funds for Bloodwise in memory of their little girl. I would love your help to add to their fund and if you could sponsor me it would mean a lot.

As you probably know I am not exactly an elite athlete (!) and I seem to remember that my best result in the school's cross country was 77th.  However I am determined to stick to the training plan and your donation will really help me to get over the finish line.

Thanks so much.

Emmie
