There’s no better time to complete a lifelong ambition to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis, than having just turned 40; an age most sufferers will not reach. Trekking at altitude is also something that I believe is relevant to my cause, knowing that anything I endure, will be nothing compared to the daily suffering of someone with this disease.
Over the years, I’ve seen medical research progress into treating the condition and towards the hope of finding a cure. Raising money will contribute to the continuous efforts in supporting families and taking research to the next level.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.
