Ends of the Earth
Welcome to the fundraising page for my to Nordkapp cycle ride this year. You can read all about my preparations and a daily update from the road on my blog,
www.allterrainphotos.co.ukThis June, I will be cycling from my flat in to Nordkapp in . I will attempt this ride alone. I intend to cover a distance of 2800 miles in 5-6 weeks. The route will take me to the coast in and then across the Channel to Belgium. From here, I will follow the North Sea Cycle Route through Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. From the north east of Denmark, I will take a ferry over to the south west coast of Sweden. From here, I will travel north east, up to the Swedish - Finnish border, well into . A benefit of being north of the for a couple of weeks will be permanent sunshine. The final leg of my ride will take me past the northern parts of Sweden and Finland, into Norway and eventually Nordkapp, the most northern point on mainland .I have dedicated this ride to support all the noble activities of the Child's I Foundation, a new charity set up recently to design and build a specialist transitional care centre in to provide life saving care to abandoned babies. The Child's I Foundation plan to recruit and train a team of Ugandan social workers and set up a fostering and adoption service. Their goal is to reunite these children with their natural family or place them with loving foster or adoptive families, eradicating the need for them to remain in long-term childcare institutions.Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Child's I Foundation will get your money faster and if you're a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Additionally, 100% of the money raised will go straight to Child's I to be used to help the orphans directly as everyone's time, including mine and all my costs for this trip, are given free of charge to aid the cause.Thank you so much for your support.Julien
