Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. This means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time. Around 145,000 people live with Parkinson’s in the UK and it's the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.
This is a cause that is particularly close to my heart after seeing the devastating impact of the disorder on multiple family members. The physical and mental effects of this condition vary considerably and, in my experience, are often misunderstood. By taking on this challenge, I hope to be able to raise awareness about the condition and bring forward the day when no one should fear Parkinson's.
Despite undertaking over 50 years of research, there is still no known cure. Parkinson’s UK fund research projects that get us closer to the cure every day. By supporting our cycle ride, you can help Parkinson's UK find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's.
