Story

ENFIELD TOWN LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB was founded in 1985 as Merryhills Midgets, a name taken from the primary school that the founder members attended and although The Club has undergone a couple of name changes throughout the years, in 2003 we formed official links with Enfield Town FC (Men’s), which was set up by the supporters of the defunct Enfield FC, leading us to be called Enfield Town Ladies FC and this year we are celebrating our 35th Year in existence.

Back in September 2020 we supported Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and in Particular a local girl called 'Daya' fight against the disease who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma aged just 11 months. After two and half years of treatment to battle the cancer her family successfully raised £362,000 for life-threatening surgery to remove the remaining neuroblastoma tumour and although 'Daya' is currently in remission she may need further treatment to prevent relapse which may not be possible through NHS funding and could therefore cost hundreds of thousands pounds. If 'Daya' does use the funds for treatment all money raised will go to Solving Kids cancer and their charitable work in funding research and supporting other families against neuroblastoma

During this latest Lockdown our Ladies Football season has been postponed. Therefore, from 5th November 2020 our senior ladies section will be participating in either running, walking, cycling or rowing 1985 miles (being the year we were formed) until the end of Lockdown 2nd December to try and raise £1985 for 'Daya's cause.

Please give generously and help us raise funds for this  much needed cause.
