The Bone Cancer Research Trust is the leading charity dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer. Our mission is to save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer through research, information, awareness and support.

Story

The staff and governors of English Martyrs' Primary School have decided to undertake the challenge of running in this years Manchester Marathon! The inspiration being our previous head boy Jude Anderton.

Jude very sadly died from bone cancer aged 12 on 28th February 2018. During his illness Jude showed tremendous courage not only in fighting the horrible disease, but in raising awareness and funds for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

This charity does invaluable work but receives no government funding. We were shocked to learn that the research and development in treating cancers like Jude's have not moved on for decades. Jude has made a whole community sit up, take notice and he has inspired us to action.

To commemorate the first anniversary of Jude's death our three relay teams made up of staff, governors and one of Jude’s family members will be running the Manchester Marathon.

We want to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity and to prove that Jude's legacy is alive and kicking and that his light will continue to shine as brightly as ever.
