In memory of Aidan Fitzpatrick
We provide year round sports training to people with an intellectual disability

Story

The staff of the Equality Commission are helping to raise much-needed funds for Special Olympics, to support their excellent work and to honour the memory of our colleague and friend Aidan Fitzpatrick who died in a traffic accident in October 2019.

Aidan was a great supporter of Special Olympics - he coached and refereed basketball and helped with various other sporting events.

Aidan’s passing is a huge loss to everyone who knew him.  We hope our efforts will honour his memory and help Special Olympics to continue their amazing work.

About the charity

Special Olympics is a sport organisation for people with an intellectual disability, currently supporting nearly 8,000 athletes across Ireland, who are training for much more than the physical benefits that come from sport, but the emotional and social development that come from being part of S.O.I.
