Story

Got a few offers for those that are not sure if they want to sponsor me. Sponsor me £10 and I'll scream your name down one of the many hills I encounter, sponsor me £20 and I'll sing / rap 2 verses and 2 choruses of your favourite song. All will be recorded via helmet cam.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

If you've donated before then you'll know most of this story but keep reading...

My mother raised me to be respectful of others and to do my best which I managed to do throughout my younger years. It's normally in your twenties that you start to get closer to your parents again as the regular rules and regulations have been relaxed because common sense and manners have been instilled in you. Unfortunately my time was cut short as my mum took ill - she was a work-horse and was highly respected in her profession (Sister in an operating theatre). It was unusual to see her ill and admitted to hospital for checks and scans etc. She was admitted for around 2 weeks and I remember trying to rush back from work everyday to spend time with her and my Dad in the hospital.

After the 2 weeks and not being able to find what was wrong with her she was discharged - I was at a conference in Wales. I phoned everyday whilst I was away to see how she was and everything seemed fine, even when I was on my way back. When I got back into London I was going to take a long route home (night bus etc) to unwind but decided against it and came directly home.

It was just before 11pm when I was about to put my key in the door when I heard a call of distress from my dad. I rushed in and ran upstairs to find my mum, my supermum, my rock, keeled over on the floor. I panicked but tried to keep it together by phoning 999 and trying to administer CPR.

The ambulance came and she was pronouced dead a few hours later. She died of a heart attack probably caused by a blood clot.

My mum had done so much good in the world (sending money home to relatives and even people that were not relatives, paying for school fees in Sierra Leone) that I felt that it was only right for me to start doing some good things. What I really feel bad about is the fact that she never got to see what a fine young man (well, I think so!) she raised.

So please find it in your "heart" to donate and help me reach my target.

Thank you.
