Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am fundraising for Dewi's Dreams and Tree of Hope to help out a friend.  I have known Rob since primary school; he is a friend in need, and has always been a friend indeed.  If roles were reversed, I know Rob and his wife Deb would help Leanne and I with Mikey.

Rob and Deb's son, Dewi, is a wonderful little boy who in spite of his disability is lively, energetic and positive.  Dewi can benefit from a life-changing and enhancing operation, as well as a programme of physiotherapy.  However, it is difficult to get the operation through NHS Wales and so private treatment in England or the USA is the best hope for Dewi.

Please visit the below page and search 'Dewi's Dreams' on Facebook for more information.

Simply, I want to make a contribution to help Dewi achieve his dreams of being able to jump, run, to kick a ball, to be able to walk without falling over and to be without pain.  To help him achieve his dream I have chosen to erg (indoor row) the length of the River Taff.

Some of you may  be asking, 'Why do you wanna do an erg Phil?' ...

The answer... 'Because I can't run or cycle.'

I will be doing the challenge at Dragon Crossfit, Llanishen, Cardiff, on October 4th.  I aim to row the 64km (40 mile) distance of the River Taff in under five hours (including toilet breaks).  If you are free on the day, come down and do a couple of k's alongside me!!!!

Please donate what you can to help me achieve, better still surpass, my ambitious target.  Please share this page on your social media; at your rowing clubs, sports clubs, schools, universities and workplaces to help me achieve my aim.  Every pound will help spur me on to complete the challenge!
