What’s this all about?!

Last year, a friend of mine took on the TrekFest challenge in Wales. While the 31miles and 12 hours of hiking was enough to convince him it was about the most difficult thing he'd ever done, the the resulting sense of accomplishment and the satisfaction in raising money for a great cause made it entirely worthwhile. I think that's kinda like the PR version.

Somehow, amid the horror stories of losing toe nails along the way, developing blisters the size of small watermelons, and walking like a crippled zombie for a week after the event, I decided to join in on the fun this year. Maybe I just think it will be fun to pretend I'm Frodo for a day... Or Gollum, after a little rain and few hours of hiking. 

This year the hike will take place in England's Peak District, one of Britain's most inspiring National Parks, as the website says. The route will even take us to the highest point in the park, the moorland plateau, Kinder Scout. I'm thinking this should be pretty awesome.
