Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

On Friday and Saturday 3rd and 4th July 2009 I walked 40 miles because I am raising money for Northern Stage (the theatre I run in Newcastle, looking bonny and inviting in the picture)

The theatre (which used to be called Newcastle Playhouse) celebrates its 40th Birthday next year and we are running a major fundraising campaign so that we can make some truly amazing theatre next year and so that we can we can secure the future of this fantastic building.

As it happens I am also about to turn 40 so it seemed appropriate to walk 40 miles to raise cash for the campaign.  As many of you may already know on 3rd and 4th July 2009 24 Northern Stage staff and their friends and families ACTUALLY DID walk the whole way from Haltwhistle in Northumberland along Hadrian's Wall into Newcastle and Northern Stage!  We were very ably supported by an amazing team of colleagues who made us lunch, met us with water and encouragement at every checkpoint and even pitched tents for us.  We all walked through pain and exhaustion to get to the end and I am so very proud of everyone who took part.  I sprained my ankle pretty early on so am quite proud of myself for sticking with it and getting not only to the Tyne Bridge (the best sight ever) but then up the hill to Northern Stage!

If you have given already thank you so very much.  You kept us all going and you have made a real difference, to me and to the theatre.  If you haven't yet it isn't too late!  Think of it as a well done gift!
