Story

Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 20.01.2011 I will begin to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa and the worlds highest free-standing mountain at 5895m (19,341ft).

I am raising money for Macmillan Palliative Day Care Centre

The Macmillan & Hudson Palliative Care Centre in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire is a nurse-led day centre for patients with life-limiting illnesses.

It provides:         -A specialist multi-disciplinary palliative care team providing advice, support and care to patients.

-Day therapy (including intravenous infusions and blood transfusions for both palliative and non-palliative patients)

-Bereavement and support services for families and patients accessing this service.

-Complementary therapies, such as reflexology and relaxation for both patients and their carers.

-Diversional therapies and day care to provide respite support to carers.

-A small number of palliative care inpatient beds on Trafford Ward to provide symptom management and terminal care.

The unit depends on donations from the public to provide complementary and diversional therapies, which patients and families find invaluable.

Donations are also used to enhance the comfort and well-being of patients within this department and on the inpatient facility.

Thank you for all your support
