Story

Event: Edinburgh Marathon Relay 2009

For: Blind in Business (Charity Registration No 1011957)

Distance: 5.4 miles (8.7 km)

Date: 31st May 2009

A lot of you know me or remember me from my schooling days in Cyprus, as someone who always took part and loved sports - from all those 5-a-side football games and fun Monday afternoon volleyball games, and even all those Sports Days when I use to make my self suffer during the 1500 metre runs.

Some of you may not be aware but after coming to England for university, I began gradually losing my sight and concentrated on getting my degree. After a longer time at university than I had originally planned, I made it thanks to all the wonderful people around me.

I am now working full time in technology at an investment bank and I got this job after successfully being accepted for a summer internship in my penultimate year at university thanks to Blind in Business.

This sponsorship will of course mean a lot to Blind in Business but it will also help me by motivating me to conquer one thing which I have neglected because of the concentration I showed during my university studies. That is to get back into shape.

5.4 miles (8.7 km) may not seem like a lot but for someone who has hardly done any exercise for 7 years, I think it is a good start.

Please sponsor me. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
