Typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Yolanda) made its first landfall in the early morning of 8 November in Guiuan, Eastern Samar province with maximum sustained winds of 235 km/h and wind gusts at 275 km/h. 9.8 million Affected people 659,268 People displaced 1,316 Number of evacuation centres. The media is reporting possible dead exceeding 10,000. People have lots their homes and families.
