Hi – we’re Jill and Fay and, along with Bessie the Banger, we are Team ES-CAR-GO!

Over three days in September 2018 our challenge is to GO by CAR to ESpaña – hopefully not at the snail’s pace our team name implies!

Yes, we’ll be driving all the way from Deal in Kent to Barcelona in sunny Spain to raise money for a local charity, the Martha Trust.

But here’s the catch – Bessie is a very elderly Vauxhall Astra with well over 90,000 miles on the clock. She was bought three years ago for under £200 and has already done two similar Martha Trust challenges, to both Rome and Monte Carlo and back. So getting her all the way to Barcelona (via the Pyrenees!) and back is going to be the challenge of her lifetime – and possibly ours…
