Story
As most people know I have lived with Alopecia Universalis for the last 30 years and whilst it's not life threatening, it has been and can be a tough condition to live with at times, whether your male or female, young or old. The journey after diagnosis and early on can be really hard going, even life changing and outside of wig/hair replacement products and services there is not much else on offer to help those people going through it. I feel passionately that there are better services to be delivered around feeling good about the way you feel inside, and they way you look. I know that fundraising to support research and development projects will impact long term on our understanding of the condition and hopefully produce new and innovative treatments. I hope to that fundraising will help make treatments and resources more readily and more widely available for all. The charity too needs to keep operating, it provides support and is an influential hub for all those living with alopecia. For many it really does provide a lifeline at the most difficult of times. So please, help me raise funds for Alopecia UK so that everyone in the alopecia community can benefit.
The last big running event I ran was the London Flora Marathon back in 1994 - WOW that is a scary thought!! I haven't run 10K for probably over 10 years, and after two children, the thought is a daunting one. I run a little keep fit and of course still play netball so this is going to be my first real challenge for sometime, and Esteems first challenge ever so here's your chance to challenge us to the 10K run on 13th July 2014. Please be extra kind to us and sponsor my cause today..... in fact.... right now!
Thanks to all of you for reading my story and if you can spare some change please do. Thanks so much for donating.
July is not too far away.
