We are the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and we're leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.

Story

Janneke and I have signed up to a virtual running challenge where we will run the distance between our two homes.  Doesn’t sound particularly challenging until you know that I live in Glasgow and Janneke is in Belgrade.  The distance we are running is 2420 km.  The objective of this challenge is consistency and we aim to run 100k every month for a year.

In choosing a charity, we are running in memory of my cousin Douglas Bendoris who lost his life to suicide more than 18 months ago.  There are so many stories now of young men losing their lives through suicide and we want to raise awareness and show our support through fundraising for CALM.

We will be posting updates on our progress and you can follow our journey on our Facebook page.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.  Anyone can hit crisis point. CALM run a free and confidential helpline and webchat 7 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who needs to talk about life's problems.
