Sue Ryder Hospice Care Run

Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon 2017 · 8 October 2017 ·
Having worked for Sue Ryder now for some time, I feel even more passionate about the need for providing holistic, sensitive end-of-life care. Sue Ryder works very hard to offer support, comfort and safety to people who are dying and their families. I have over the months been struck by people's - patients and their families - capacity to express gratitude to the service at some of the most painful times in their lives.
However, making sure care like this continues is not without its challenges: funding is vital...
£35 could provide one complementary therapy session, helping patients to feel looked after
£100 could pay for a hospice nurse for the day
£1000 pays for a syringe driver to give constant relief for patients
and that doesn't cover the medical, spiritual, emotional and practical support offered and sheer mix of skills in the hospice team.
Any donations are appreciated as palliative care of this kind is very much needed, and offers some hope about the wider value of care for us all across the lifespan.
Thank you, thank you
