Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby Moore, from bowel cancer. The Bobby Moore Fund is now a leader in the fight against bowel cancer, funding research that’s helping more people to survive than ever before.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page; you're half way there to making a real difference.

On Sunday 11th May,  a merry band of lycra clad individuals will be setting off on Scotland's only closed road cycle sportive. The route starts off on Pitlochry's main street before heading East alongside Loch Tummel, around Loch Rannoch, up and over Schiehallion, a quick dash out to Fortingall before returning to Pitlochry passing Aberfeldy. In total, the route covers a distance of 81 miles with a total ascent of over 1900 metres / 6400 feet.

The cost to enter this event has been personally funded by the participants with all donations going straight to The Bobby Moore Fund.

Why The Bobby Moore Fund?

Last August, Stewart David Smith lost his life to Bowel cancer aged just 28. He fought a horrendous battle for 2 years and 1 month, defeating septicaemia, multi-organ failure, antibiotic-induced hearing loss, kidney failure and countless other complications along the way.

Stewart's family and friends are determined that his death will not be in vain and are attempting to raise £10,000 for the Bobby Moore Fund. Please help them help others.
