I’m taking part in Movember for two reasons, first to raise money for a great cause focusing on mental health and mental health in the BAME community. Given the reductions in mental health funding and the well known issues within our communities charities such as Rethink are all the more crucial through a turbulent year.

The secondary reason is to challenge myself, my beard had become such a vital part of my identity that I felt physically uncomfortable at the thought of not having one. Reflecting on this, it is a blessing to be in such an environment where I can afford to worry about such triviality.
