People with blood cancer deserve to know whether the vaccines will work the same as the rest of the population, but the Government isn't funding research to do it properly. Your support will mean that we can fund the research needed to find answers.

Story

On 19th of March I would be taking a part of exhibition boxing match, RAG  fight night 2022, before resuming in Amateur Boxing. The exhibition match is a non-profit event and ticket sales go to charity. I have decided to set up my own charity for blood cancer research.

November 2021 was a very tough time for me. A lot of things were going out of hand at the time. I had to move out a place where I was staying before my full accommodation was sorted; I was homeless over 2 weeks. During that time, I had to asked my close friends for place to stay and thankfully I have amazing friends who deeply care about me and gave a place to stay for me. Thank to them I could focus on my work and boxing- I cannot imagine what would be without them.

One of the long term friends, who helped me through the tough month and have a lot of good times together, has been diagnosed for Hodgkins Lymphoma and currently battling the blood cancer with chemotherapy. I do not want to see people suffering from such a horrible disease. They are all valuable to someone. By taking the part of the event and raising money for the blood cancer vaccine research, I want to help preventing such a disease.

This fight is more than just a fight. It’s for my friend and all the other blood cancer patients. It is what it takes, I will put my performance for the fight night. I will not let you down.

230,000 people with blood cancer have been shielding for over the year due to the COVID pandemic. Vaccines offer a way out of this for our community but we know that people with blood cancer do not respond to vaccines in the same way someone without blood cancer does, and there's been some suggestion that COVID vaccinations may not offer sufficient protection for our community. That's why Blood Cancer UK have launched Vaccine Research Collaborative.People with blood cancer deserve the same answers about whether the vaccines work as the rest of the population ,but the Government isn't providing the funding to do it properly and that's why I am launching a virtual fundraiser.Your donation will mean that the research needed to find these answers can be funded so that those who are protected can get back to normal life and those who aren't can be supported.
