Story
Every day in the UK a violent assault is committed against a sex worker.
As a sex worker, I believe that sex work is work, and sex worker rights are human rights: I believe that everyone deserves to work safely and without fear of violence, assault or robbery. This is why I am raising money for National Ugly Mugs.
Ugly Mugs believe in:
- the right to self determination
- the right to live free from violence
- the right to live free from intimidation, coercion or exploitation
- the right to work as safely as possible
- the right to police protection
And what Ugly Mugs do:
- They take reports of incidents from sex workers and produce anonymised warnings which are sent directly to sex workers and front-line support projects throughout the UK.
- With consent, they share anonymous intelligence to the police.
- They support sex workers in making full reports to the police so that the perpetrators can be identified, arrested and convicted.
- They ensure sex workers have access to professional services when they have been a victim of crime.
