Since 1956, experienced HCPT volunteers have taken 1,000s of disabled and disadvantaged children and adults on life changing pilgrimage holidays to the shrine of Lourdes in France. We are of all faiths and none. Thank you for your support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a member of Group 21 of HCPT – The Handicapped Children’s Pilgrimage Trust.  Group 21 is made up of teachers and sixth form students from the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School as well as a chaplain and a nurse.  This Easter we will be accompanying ten children with disabilities on a Pilgrimage to Lourdes.  The aim of the trip is to give the children a safe, exciting and enjoyable holiday.  Each volunteer will take personal responsibility for the care of a child.  This will include personal care duties including bathing, dressing and feeding.  The trip will include a number of sightseeing trips to places of interest and the highlight of the Pilgrimage is  the Trust mass, where all HCPT groups from across the world gather together for a service in the underground Basilica.

As a group, we are collectively aiming to raise £8000 which will cover the cost of bringing 10 children on the trip.  The Trust ensures that all these children, regardless of means, are able to enjoy the pilgrimage without being asked to make any financial contribution.  Personally I am hoping to raise £1000 towards our group target.

If you are a UK taxpayer, please do not forget to click the Gift Aid box as this will assist in maximising our funds.

Your donations will help to give a child with disabilities a week of unforgettable fun and friendship in comfortable fully accessible accommodation.
