For Alzhiemer's Research

Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019 · 8 September 2019 ·
My Grandad suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Since he was diagnosed, eight years' ago, he has gradually deteriorated. At first, he was just a little forgetful. Then over time he's started to forget more important things; he started to forget people, even close family members. When I see him now, he still knows I'm someone special. I can see he still really loves me; he's just not sure exactly who I am.
I'll never forget my Grandad, and all the things he's done for me! That's why I'm heading to Newcastle England on September 8th, to take part in the world's biggest half marathon - the Great North Run! I'll be running to raise money for Alzheimer's research. At this stage any breakthrough in treating Alzheimer's will come too late to help my Grandad. But I hope one day, one day soon, there will be a cure for this devastating disease.
