Over the next 6 months our team at evans Halshaw will be raising money for our chosen charity NEW to help fund and build on there ever-growing work in the community in the north east.

Wilderness schooling is an innovative and evidence-based approach to raising attainment by using the outdoor world to
bring maths, science and English alive. Although there is a cost to the
programme they are an non-profit group and therefor require as much funding as possible to keep the programme growing.

We will be running a number of on-site
challenges as well as raffles & coffee mornings in the hope of raising
around £2000 to contribute to the costs of the wilderness schooling program.

This £2k will send 15 kids on a 6 week, 1 day per week, Wilderness Schooling event & the results are astounding as to how these specifically chosen kids reduce the attainment gap that they have with other kids prior to the course. The chosen kids have difficulty learning in the classroom environment due to a number of reasons( a lot of which is mental health driven through difficult home lives, anxiety stress & depression) & the fact they learn English & Maths outdoors opens up their creative minds & helps them enormously.

On may the 18^th We will also be sending 2 of our team members to embark on the challenging task of climbing ben nevis. Richard godley our senior service adviser & john Hadley our master technician of over 20 years kindly put there names forward to take on the challenge along with 26 other team members from across a number of our other sites in the hope of raising as much money as possible for our chosen charity.
