Oh my god I'm running the marathon!!

2010 Deep River Rock Belfast Marathon - Individual · 3 May 2010 ·
Hi everyone,
Picture the scene....
Date: April 2009
Place: Dirty Duck, Holywood
People: Sharon Gregg and Eve Buchanan
Conversation goes a little like this......
Sharon "I'm running the marathon next year"
Eve "Wow, that's huge!! Good for you. I want to get fit so I might do some training with you."
Sharon "Well if you are going to train for it why don't you just do the whole thing with me?"
Fast forward six months and Eve is signed up, and has got her entry number along with sore hips, stiff muscles and the constant little voice screaming "whhhhhyyyyyyyy????" running through her head every time she hits the pavements (running that is, not falling over - well, not yet anyway!!).
Sharon on the other hand has not. So Sharon, even though you have a fantastic and very ligitimate reason for not doing the marathon please be advised that I am going to be cursing your name every step of the 26.2 miles of the way!!
All that aside I am really happy to have the chance to raise money for an absolutely fantastic charity that often falls under the radar - Circles Network. I had the priviledge to work for this charity and to meet some of the most amazing and dedicated people around. You can find out details about Circles at www.circlesnetwork.org.uk but please take my word for it when I say that any money you donate here will go towards funding much needed and sought after work alongside disabled and disadvantaged people.
I have set my target pretty high so please, dig as deep as you can - it all helps!! - and I would also request that alongside donating some cash you put forward your suggestions for some great songs to run to just to help me stay motivated and to get me get to the end!!
Lastly, if you do find yourself at a loose end on 3rd May 2010 and are in Belfast please come along and give me a cheer!
Thank you!!!!!!
Evie B xoxo
PS If anyone happens to find my marbles lying around anywhere you are probably best off keeping them until after 3rd May or it is very likely that I will come to my senses and put an end to this madness before the starting gun goes off!!!
