Story
In just a few months time, my Dad and I will be taking part in this year’s Cheshire Triathlon to raise money for Manchester Young Lives. Whilst he is practically a veteran and takes part most years, this will only be my second time and I thought that a decent way to motivate myself would be to raise money for a charity that’s really close to my heart.
As a secondary teacher at a fantastic school in Manchester, I am fortunate enough to spend my days with some of the most amazing young people I have ever met. Some of these young people, however, need our help more than others, and live difficult lives due to situations out of their control. Manchester Young Lives is a charity that works in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Manchester by intervening with children and young people who are at risk of falling outside mainstream services and becoming involved in anti-social and dangerous behaviours. Any amount of money will help fund the initiatives they put in place to help some of the most vulnerable people in society, so if you can spare anything whatsoever to donate then it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading and wish us (read: me) luck!
