Independent Age helps the elderly live Independent lives on their own terms. They help advise families on care, support, money, health, mobility along with friendship and companionship services to relieve loneliness! 

This matter is really close to my heart as I am so close to my grandfather who is currently struggling with these issues - in pain, lonely and lacking his independence. It’s so hard to know what is the best route to take in terms of the best care. I also have been a live-in companion for an elderly lady in London and the loneliness they face is heartbreaking. Every normal task becomes nearly impossible and pain punctuates everything - I would love to support a charity that helps our elders live easier lives. 

I have also written three plays about this matter - loneliness in the elderly and it seems to be a reoccurring subject for me in my artistic inspiration as they have given so much and have such amazing stories to tell and often find themselves “staring out the window all day”. 

Any penny would be so greatly appreciated in my effort of running the London half marathon (last time I couldn’t walk for a week)!
