We are raising money for 3 different chosen charities by trekking Mount Everest Base Camp this September 2022. I have chosen Action Cancer in memory of my Grandfather, Roy Riddell. 

In 2016 our beloved grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer. This news devastated our whole family. I can't imagine how my grandfather must have felt through this difficult time however he showed great determination and strength throughout. He underwent radiotherapy and was given reassurance and guidance from the cancer centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Despite his deterioration he always had a smile on his face. He was the the perfect gentleman and a wonderful role model. 

In 2017 our grandfather lost his battle to cancer. To honor this wonderful man I wanted to do something as courageous and memorable to show how much he was loved. 

Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for nearly 10 million deaths in 2020, or nearly one in six deaths. Lung cancer in particular is one of the most common diagnosed cancers. We would be very grateful for any donation, no matter how big or small. Thank you for all the support!!
