Voor het goede doel naar Everest Base Camp lopen!
In Maart 2009 zal ik deelnemen aan de Everest Base Camp Trek 2009. Mijn werkgever Accenture organiseert deze trekking samen met VSO om de VSO organisatie te promoten en geld in te zamelen voor hun doel - in dit geval het VSO Onderwijs Programma in Nepal. (details hierover staan hier).
Mijn doel is het inzamelen van € 6250,- (₤ 5000,-) wat VSO zal helpen bij hun inspanningen om scholen te bouwen, leraren op te leiden, lagere kasten en meisjes van onderwijs te voorzien, etc. Hierbij heb ik jouw hulp nodig!
Update 18 november: zoals je kunt zien heb ik met de hulp van vele gulle gevers het streefbedrag bereikt. Laat dit je er vooral niet van weerhouden te doneren – het gaat er niet om dat het streefbedrag bereikt is, maar om zoveel mogelijk kinderen in Nepal van onderwijs te kunnen voorzien met jouw hulp! Elke Pond / Dollar / Euro helpt een verschil te maken!!!
Je kunt op 3 manieren een financiële bijdrage leveren:
1. Online met je credit card: klik op de "Sponsor me now" button en vul het bedrag in dat je wilt doneren, samen met de gegevens van je credit card. Je bijdrage komt dan direct bij VSO terecht. LET OP: Het bedrag moet in Engelse Ponden ingevuld worden. 1 Pond is ongeveer 1.15 euro. Klik hier voor de actuele wisselkoers.
Doneren via Justgiving is snel, simpel en volledig veilig. Het is de meest efficiënte manier om te doneren.
2. Bank overschrijving: maak het bedrag over op rekeningnummer 51.68.978 van A.G. van Mierlo - De Meern o.v.v. "Everest Challenge". Ik zal het geld dan overmaken naar VSO.
3. Contant geld: Uiteraard kun je altijd contant geld geven wanneer je me ziet; Ik zal het geld dan overmaken naar VSO.
100% van je donatie gaat naar VSO, ik zal zelf betalen voor vluchten en andere persoonlijke uitgaven.
Elke donatie helpt, dus wees niet bang dat je niet genoeg kunt bijdragen om een verschil te maken.

Hiking to Everest Base Camp for a good cause!
In March 2009 I will be participating in the Everest Base Camp Trek 2009. My employer Accenture organises this together with VSO to promote the VSO organisation and raise money for their cause - in this case the VSO educational Programme in Nepal. (Find out more details about it here).
My goal is to raise € 6250,- (₤ 5000,-) which will help VSO in their efforts to build schools, educate teachers, provide education to lower castes and girls, etc. For this I do need your support!
Update November 18th: As you can see, with the help of many generous people I have surpassed the target amount. Please let this not stop you from donating - it's not about me having reached the target amount, it's about as many kids possible receiving education with your help! You can help with your financial contributions in 3 ways:

3. Handing over cash: Of course you can always just give me cash when you see me; I will then transfer the money to VSO.
100% of your donation will go to VSO, I will personally pay for my flight and other personal expenses.

A special note (in Dutch)
Ter nagedachtenis aan Willemine Schijvens, *12.11.1933 - 23.01.2001. In leven directeur van de bibliotheek de Lindenberg Nijmegen.
Zij ondersteunde en geloofde in het waarmaken van dromen.
Een droom van haar was om naar Nepal te gaan en een bijdrage te leveren aan boeken voor kinderen.
Zij liet ons geld na om in haar voetstappen "iets" met Nepal te gaan
doen. Door haar bijdrage wordt een droom alsnog werkelijkheid.
