Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are Tieran and Ripley - both 14 years old and keen climbers. We have decided to raise money for our favourite charity, Urban Uprising, by climbing the equivalent of Everest.
Mount Everest is 8848 metres high, equal to 2528 climbs on the climbing walls at TCA Glasgow. We will need to complete over 100 climbs each per week for 12 weeks in order to complete the challenge.
Urban Uprising work in partnership with youth organisations and schools and their sessions are delivered in groups, with young people working to achieve their own goals within the three levels of the program, 'Taste', 'Climb' and 'Repeat'. With a great set of devoted coaches, such as legendary female British climber Hazel Findlay, Urban Uprising teaches kids the basics of climbing.
Here in Glasgow we have two climbing gyms which host the Urban Uprising sessions. It is there that we will climb the equivalent of Mount Everest. We are roughly climbing 92 climbs a week each for three months, to achieve are goal of reaching the summit of Everest.
