Everest in an Evening

Neil Speariett is raising money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices
In memory of Samuel Revitt
We care for children & young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambs, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk and support their families. This can be at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton, The Treehouse and The Nook. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income.

Story

We at the 10th Ipswich Scout Group, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers helped by Avid Climbing wanted to do something special in  memory of Samuel. A Rainbow Cub who spread hi happy smile and personality through all that new him and member of our scouting family. He and his family were supported and cared for by the children's Treehouse Centre, part of the East Anglian Children's Hospice and it it our privilege and pleasure to take part in such a mountainous event in aid of such a high reaching charity.

In a single evening we will start at sea level and climb the equivalent vertical height of the tallest mountain in the world, Mt Everest. Standing at 8848m tall nestled up in the clouds with participants as young as 7 this really is a Mammoth task. Especially when you think they will be pulling themselves up vertical and over hanging walls using only their fingertips to hold on to things, at times, no bigger than a match box.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
