Everesting
“The most difficult climbing challenge in the world”
We’re raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
On 31st August 2025* Alfie, Matt and I are endeavoured to cycle the height of Everest in one attempt (including rest and meal breaks). That’s 8,849 metres (29,030 feet) of ascent. The hill we chose is around 2 miles long and climbs approximately 200m each time, so that’s 43 laps, and makes for a 172 mile bike ride! Sadly, we didn't make it on our first attempt. Please see the updates for details as I will be rescheduling my attempt as soon as possible.
Prostate Cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in men in the UK, 1 in 8 men will receive a diagnosis and of those 20% will be claimed by it.
Currently we have family members both in remission and receiving treatment thanks to the research undertaken by Prostate Cancer UK, so we are acutely aware of the importance of raising funds to support their work.
We believe this effort can only be matched by undertaking the biggest cycling challenge there is and, in some small way, make a difference and hopefully edge them closer to their ultimate goal ‘to create a world where no man dies from prostate cancer’
