Story

I thought it was about time I put all this cycling to good use, so I'd like to ask for your help in raising some money for a great charity.

I’ve decided to “Everest” the Clisham. To ride my bike up and down the road repeatedly until I reach the vertical ascent equivalent to Everest – 8,848m, so 52 hill repeats of the Clisham!

According to my Dad's geeky spreadsheet it’ll take over 15 hours, cover 150 miles and require at least 6 fruit cakes from Stag bakery!

The Everesting will take place on Wednesday the 13th of July, starting at approx 5am and hoping to finish before dark! The Clisham was the first climb to come to mind, back home on a long summers day (I hope), it’s the highest hill in the Western isles with and its never been Everested.

This is a once in a lifetime cycle, so I hope you consider it worthy of your hard earned cash! All money donated will be going to Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland. I chose Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland in memory of my Gran, Maggie Mary from Aird who passed away recently. The charity  helped her and will continue to help others with some of the most common, difficult and complex illnesses we face.
