Story
We must be crazy.... but Evie is going to 'climb' Kilimanjaro to try and raise £1000 for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund! Neil and I will be carrying Evie (in her sling) 38,680 steps, the distance it takes to climb Kilimanjaro. We will be doing it on our stairs at home, spread over 7 days- which works out at nearly 100 flights of stairs EACH, each day! As the view in our hallway isn't quite as good at that in Tanzania, any donation will really help to boost our motivation!
As many of you may know Evie has had a bit of a more challenging start to her life and Leeds Children's Hospital and the Children's Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) have been brilliant to us in such a difficult time. The CHSF provided Neil and I with a room to stay in whilst Evie was in hospital, meaning that we didn't have to travel each day to see her, which was invaluable during such a stressful time. They also help to provide counselling, food and financial support to parents who's children are having surgery, as well as invaluable equipment for the paediatric intensive care unit and Ward 51.
To say thank you and to help the next set of parents that need support through such a difficult time we are hoping to raise £1000 for the charity which is now struggling as so many fundraisers have been cancelled. Neil's work will match anything we raise (up to £3000), so please donate what you can, as every penny will be doubled.
